Brightpoint, Microsoft, forge mobile solution plan for VARs A joint marketing agreement between Microsoft Corp. and mobile phone distributor Brightpoint Inc. will see the two entities join forces to target value added resellers (VARs) and systems integrators (SIs) with a packaged wireless solution designed to woo their small to mid-sized business (SMB) customers.
Brightpoint says it has developed a Mobile Activation Service (MAS) that will enable the VAR community to deliver a packaged wireless solution that includes a familiar and integrated set of software technologies, including Windows Small Business Server 2003 and Windows Mobile software, to their SMB customers. Brightpoint will initially launch the service in the U.S. with Sprint, via the Sprint nationwide PCS network this year, officials said. Read The Whole Article

BenQ Sweetens VAR Program BenQ America plans to introduce an enhanced version of its partner program that includes new soft and hard dollars and extended warranties and services for its display resellers.
The new Platinum Qreseller program, expected to be unveiled on Wednesday at the Intel Solution Summit in Las Vegas, is aimed specifically at solution providers that create hardware solutions for customers and offer consultative sales, said Al Giazzon, vice president of marketing at BenQ.
