Ottawa VAR Nitro Microsystems Inc. added some value to itself yesterday with the acquisition of OAM Network Solutions. The latter company, which is based in Toronto, has been labeled a "strategic addition."
"The addition of OAM Network Solutions will advance Nitro's vision of becoming the largest independent managed services provider in Canada," stated Larry Poirier, Nitro's CEO of Nitro Microsystems. "OAM Network Solutions' certifications, professional services expertise and client base compliment Nitro and collectively promote our image as a national player with a strong local touch."
Nitro wasn't so nice as to share the acquisition price, and other details (layoffs are always a concern following acquisitions) remain unknown. Still, it looks like OAM's offices will at least remain open.
Perry Graham, the president of OAM, echoed Poirier's geography-related hints. "Joining the Nitro family instantly elevates OAM's advanced technology services to enterprise class at a national level," he stated.
Also, in terms of what this means to everyone outside the two companies, "With the Nitro suite of services, excellent management and foundation of support systems, OAM can focus on delivering powerful business solutions to new and existing customers. We are very excited about the future and our commitment to excel together."
