In terms of excitement, middleware might not rank high on many people's lists. It's pretty important stuff, though, and the VARBusiness Annual Report Card (ARC) Awards recognized Oracle as 2008's best company in this category.
Oracle also beats the competition when it comes to the subcategories of Middleware Product Innovation and Partnering, according to VARBusiness. And Oracle got top honors in the Product Innovation subcategory beneath Data Information and Management, too.
This all led John Gray, Oracle's group vice president of NAS Technology Alliances and Channels, to say in a statement, "This honor, bestowed by the votes of our valued partners, demonstrates Oracle's commitment to continually improving partner opportunities across our Oracle Fusion Middleware suite of solutions, and offering partners the optimum vehicle to increase sales and customer value with Oracle."
He also vowed, "Oracle is dedicated to delivering industry-leading solutions and services that help Oracle and our partners succeed together in the marketplace."
It's indeed noteworthy that Oracle managed to outrank tough competitors like Microsoft and IBM. About 5,000 individuals responded to a VARBusiness survey and thus contributed to Oracle's win.
