Oracle has once again distinguished itself in the VAR market. After winning a VARBusiness Award last month, the corporation decided to tie its offerings to a newly launched National VAR Program. Big guys in the U.S. look to be the main beneficiaries.
An official statement explains, "Available to North American Value-Added Reseller (VAR) partners with national footprints, the new program includes the establishment of Oracle's National VAR Sales team to provide select VAR members of the Oracle PartnerNetwork a single, national point of contact for the joint development and delivery of Oracle-based technology software products and services."
It then notes, "Previously, leading VAR partners maintained and managed multiple regional Oracle sales contacts."
This simplification should save partners time and money. Oracle also seems ready to lend a hand with lead generation and a number of other matters, which should result in it receiving additional goodwill. Representatives from TUSC, CD Group, Enterpulse, and Groupware have all stepped forward to give their early approval.
Here's a sort of final bonus: Oracle intends to facilitate a National VAR Council in order to get everyone on the same page. If this keeps up, some group may have to find a new award to give the corporation.
