NEC Recognized As Top Display VAR

NEC Display Solutions of America may well be a king among value-added resellers, at least in the eyes of VAR Business Magazine's editors. NEC has been honored in several different ways as part of the magazine's 2008 Vendor Annual Report Card.
"In the key category of 'Quality and Reliability,' NEC scored highest among display vendors by a wide margin," according to a formal statement, "and in the entire technology industry, only Intel garnered a higher rating." That's not bad company to keep.
NEC also came out on top among display vendors in the "Revenue and Profit Potential," "Marketing Support," "Quality of Field Management," and "Managing Channel Conflict" categories.
All of this led Betsy Larson, NEC's vice president of channel sales, to note some of the company's secrets of success. "Quality and reliability often are the deciding factors for a VAR because the display is the most visible component of a system, so you want to get it right," she said. "Our solutions approach even helps VARs find related technologies to succeed in complex deployments like digital signage, which expands the revenue potential for our partners."
So, whether or not you're interested in all the formal recognition that NEC earned, these sound like practices worth imitating.
