Avnet Agreement With RSA To Distribute Vblocks

Avnet Technology Solutions, an Arizona based electronics distributer, recently announced it will be providing RSA security products. Through its network with Cisco, EMC, and VMware, Avnet will be distributing a line of Vblocks to complement its line of data center solutions.
Vblocks are secure infrastructure packages that come with computing, network, storage and management capabilities already integrated. They have been on the market since November 2009 upon the creation of the Virtual Computing Environment (VCE) coalition between Cisco, EMC, and VMware. However, sales have been slow.
With Avnet now working to distribute Vblocks, resellers will be able to meet the growing market demand for the technology. Avnet hopes the agreement with RSA, which oversees securing the Vblocks, will help its partners stay ahead of the competition.
